What does an analysis include

When you upload a document, Veridox examines it and produces a report. Exactly what's included depends on the document — an image is checked in ways a text document isn't — but an analysis generally covers the following.

The report

• Analysis highlights — the headline points, so you can size up the document quickly.
• Summary of risk factors — why the document was given its risk level.
• Comprehensive analysis — the detailed findings, each with a category, a description, a severity, and the supporting evidence.
• Observations — additional notes that aren't risk factors in themselves.
• Suggested actions — recommended next steps.
• Audit trail — a record of what happened, including any manual change to the risk level.

Each document is also given an overall risk level — see Risk levels explained.

Looking at the document itself

Alongside the report, Veridox may show:

• Metadata — the details embedded in the file.
• Internet — results of a reverse image search, when the document is an image found elsewhere online.
• ELA — an Error Level Analysis overlay that highlights areas of an image that may have been edited.

These appear only when there's something relevant to show, so you won't see every one on every document.
