Teams let you group members of your organisation, for example by department. The Teams & members page in Settings is where you manage them, and where you change a member's organisation role. You'll see it if your role can view teams. Creating and editing needs extra permission (see Roles and permissions); if you can only view, the page shows teams and members without the editing controls.
Create a team
Select Create Team and fill in:
- Team Name (required)
- Description (optional)
- Team Manager (required): chosen from members not already assigned elsewhere
Select Create to save.
The members table
Selecting a team shows its members. The table lists each person's Email, Name, Team, Org Role, Team Role, and when they Joined. There are two kinds of role:
- Org Role: Organisation Owner, Organisation Admin, Analyst, or Member. See Roles and permissions for what each can do.
- Team Role: Manager or Member. Managers are marked with a crown. Every team must keep at least one manager.
You can move someone to a different team using the Team dropdown on their row.
Change a member's organisation role
If your role allows it, a small pencil icon appears beside each member's Org Role (its hover label reads Change role). Select it, choose the new role, and select Update role. A few rules apply:
- You can only assign roles ranked at or below your own, and only to members whose current role is at or below yours. You can't change your own role.
- Organisation Owner can't be assigned in the app. Contact Veridox to add or change an owner. The organisation's only owner can't be demoted.
- Role changes take effect within a few minutes. The member is signed out everywhere, so they'll need to sign in again.
Add and manage members
- Add Members: search for people, optionally tick Grant manager access, then select Add.
- Select several members (using the row checkboxes) to act on them together. A toolbar shows how many are selected, with actions to Promote to manager, Demote to member, Remove from team, or move them to another team. Use Clear selection when you're done.
If you can't demote someone, it's because a team can't be left without a manager. Promote another member first.
Edit or delete a team
With a team selected, use Edit to change its details and Save Changes. Deleting a team unassigns its members rather than removing them from your organisation.
