Both usually come down to roles and permissions, the access controls that decide what each member of your organisation can do. See Roles and permissions for the full picture; here's the short version.
Why was I signed out?
When your organisation role is changed, you're signed out and need to sign in again. That's how the new role takes effect. Sign back in and you'll have the access your new role carries.
Everyone is also signed out once when roles and permissions are first enabled for an organisation, so each person comes back in under the new model. This only happens once.
Why is the Upload button greyed out?
Uploading documents and creating cases needs a permission your role doesn't currently include. The button stays visible so you know the feature exists, with a note explaining that you don't have permission.
Members can view but not upload by default. If you've just joined, or your organisation has recently tightened its roles, this is expected. Ask an Organisation Owner or Admin to grant your role upload access, or to move you to a role that has it. The change reaches you within a few minutes, and you won't be signed out.
Something else greyed out?
The same applies anywhere in Veridox: a greyed-out button with a permission note means your role doesn't include that action. An Organisation Owner or Admin can adjust what each role can do from Settings → Roles & permissions.
